We had to get up really early this morning to catch the ferry to the South Island. We checked our luggage in at 7h (it's basically like taking a plane!) and got on the ferry at 7h45. It was a huge cruise ship type of boat. The trip took about 3 hours and the scenery was amazing! We passed through the mountains in the Marlborough Sounds and enjoyed the nice weather on the outside deck. We got to Picton at 11h20 and after getting our luggage back and taking the shuttle to another place, we went to get some lunch and then caught the Magicbus at 12h15. We drove to Nelson where we stayed in a hostel that was having a huge Halloween party. In the afternoon we walked around the town and climbed up a hill to the Centre of New Zealand. The view was really nice from up there! After coming back down and enjoying the free soup at the hostel, we did some urgently needed laundry and went back down to the kitchen to enjoy the halloween party. Some people really put an effort into their costumes and came up with some hilarious but awesome results!
Weather: very sunny, but not too warm
