This morning we left Lake Tekapo for Christchurch. On the way to Christchurch, we stop at the "Cookie Time" factory. Cookie Time is the biggest cookie company in NZ and their cookies are really delicious! We decided to buy some, which cost only 5NZD (2.5 euros) for 2 big bags of cookies! The road led us through the Canterbury Plains, which is the largest area of flat land in New Zealand and which looks a lot like The Netherlands!! We arrived in Christchurch early in the afternoon and walked around the city. It is New Zealand's most british city and probably also one of the nicer cities they have. We visited the Christchurch Cathedral, the Art Gallery and the Canterbury Museum. In the latter there was a rather funny exhibition called the Paua House, which is a reconstruction of an old couple's living room who collected Paua shells (abalona shells) and which is the most awful living room decoration you could possibly imagine! After that we went into the Botanical Gardens and walked around for a while. After walking back to the YHA, we got some Indian take-away for dinner. It was really good, but the quantities were incredible!
Weather: nice and sunny
