We woke up early this morning to finish packing our luggage and go to the Sanjusangendo temple in Kyoto. It was very impressive because there are 1000 statues of Buddha (about 1,60 meter tall) that are all lined up in perfect rows. Each one has 42 hands and a bunch of heads. In the middle of these statues, there is a big Buddha with even more arms! After the temple we rushed to the train station and caught the train to Osaka and then to Himeji. We got off the train there to visit the samurai castle that Himeji is famous for. It was very impressive from the outside, but slightly disappointing from inside, although we did go up to the 6th floor to enjoy the view over Himeji. After a quick lunch, we got back on the train towards Hiroshima. We got there around 19h30 and checked-in to the hostel. For dinner we ate a local specialty called "okonomiyaki"; it was very good and it was fun to see cause they cook it in front of you and since we were the only foreigners there, the cooks spent their time trying to communicate with us! It was very funny!
