Waking up was very hard this morning... For breakfast we went to the 24h supermarket next to our hostel and got a surprisingly good bread-sugary type thing which we ate in the bus on our way to the imperial palace. When we got there, it turned out we couldn't go inside unless we had a permit, but that office was closed for lunch. So we went to the Silver Pavilion instead. Unfortunately the building was being renovated, so it was covered in scaffolding, but it had a very nice and quiet garden. We walked along the
Philiosophy Road to the next few temples. We visited quite a bunch of them because today was our last day in
Kyoto. Each temple turned out to be even more impressive than the previous one, so that kept us going. We walked all day, not even stopping for lunch... When we got to the Yasaka shrine and the old part of
Gion, we saw a geisha and got all excited about it, although later on we actually saw a few more... Walking around in that area was really nice, especially when we got to the Kyomizu temple which was both beautiful and impressive! We even drank some "holy water" for "long and healthy life".

Although we were absolutely exhausted, we still wanted to see the Inari shrine, so we decided to go there, but by the time we got there it was dark. We took some pictures and walked around through the red doorways (there are hundreds of them). The place was way bigger than we thought and we actually got lost and ended up walking around in the dark for a while before luckily ending up where we started! We took the train back to the hostel and had dinner there cause we were too tired of walking...

Weather: still very very hot and sunny and humid and the

mosquitoes are even

worse...
